Introduction | Tabletop skirmish battles
Battle Orders is a fast-paced, tactical skirmish-plus tabletop miniatures game set in the turbulent domain of Freylar, depicted in the dark fantasy series titled The Chronicles of Freylar – spanning eight novels – by Amazon best selling author Liam W H Young.
Battle Orders is designed for two or more players who each take on the role of a commander tasked with leading their assembled force into battle, made up from one or more factions: Civilians, Dire Wolves, Exiles, House Guards, Knights Thranis, Lost Knights, Louperdu, Narlakai, Ravnarkai, Scout Regiment, Septlari, Soulmancers and The Blades. The game typically takes a couple of hours to play and is fast-paced, meaning that players will not get bogged down with unnecessarily complicated rules, instead allowing them to focus on the action and, hopefully, out-smarting their opponents.

Although miniatures are available below to print and play that accurately represent the heroic characters and vile creatures from the series, the game is miniature agnostic meaning that players have the freedom to bring their own models to the table should they wish – the choice is yours. Furthermore, all of the cards, tokens and templates necessary to play Battle Orders are supplied below and in the rulebook. That said, you will need a selection of twelve (D12) and four (D4) sided dice to play. However, the design of the dice used during the game is entirely your choice; a deliberate move given that tabletop gamers, more often than not, love to use flamboyant dice of their own choosing.
This page contains links to all of the resources that you might need to play Battle Orders along with a link to the rulebook, which contains these same resources along with the ruleset needed to play and much more. If you want to know more about the domain of Freylar and its in-depth lore you can dive straight into the novels.
